Our Showcase - Curtains

A curtain, also known as a drape is a piece of cloth intended to block or obscure light, or drafts. Curtains are often hung on the inside of a building's window to block the travel of light, for instance at night to aid sleeping, or to stop light from escaping outside the building (stopping people outside from being able to see inside, often for privacy reasons). In this application they are also known as "draperies".

Austrian Curtains
A window covering suspended above the window on a headboard and drawn up with the use of pulleys. Austrian curtains can be made with blockout lining to provide a dark room or a lace providing a soft look with the privacy of a sheer or lace curtain.

Pelmets
A pelmet is a framework placed above a window, used to conceal curtain fixtures. These can be used decoratively (to hide the curtain rod) and/or to conserve heat in a room.

Valances
A valance is a form of window treatment that covers the uppermost part of the window and can be hung alone or paired with blinds, or curtains. Valances are a popular decorative choice in concealing drapery hardware.
